Dr. Neeraj Kumar, born on March 1, 1969, is a distinguished academician and the current Professor and Head of the P.G. Department of English and Research Centre at Magadh University, Bodh Gaya . With nearly 30 years of teaching and research experience, his scholarly work focuses on linguistics, Indian fiction in English, feminism, and gender studies . He earned his Ph.D. from Magadh University in 2001, focusing on women characters in R.K. Narayan’s novels, and is currently registered for a D. Litt. exploring the concept of the "New Woman" in Indian literature .

Dr. Kumar has authored five books and edited six others, including titles like Women in the Novels of R.K. Narayan and Psychic Odyssey of Women: The Novels of Manju Kapur . His prolific research includes over 50 published papers and numerous presentations at national and international conferences, including the 21st World Congress in Vienna . A recognized leader in his field, he has received awards such as "Best Professor and Best Researcher" from the Cape Comorin Trust in 2020 . Beyond his writing, he has successfully supervised 19 Ph.D. students and serves on the editorial boards of various academic journals .
